The picture above was part of a custom home build located in Indian Rocks Beach. This bathroom was a beautiful work of art in a Mediterranean style. The features in this bathroom incorporated everything that our client’s asked for.
Some of those features include a large and open space with plenty of room for dressers and other furniture. There is a large whirlpool tub to soak in at the end of a long day and several large and wide windows to allow natural light.
Our customers also requested a big enough shower for more than one person and stone placed on both the walls and the floor.
In keeping with the Mediterranean style of the home, the walls were finished in a custom finish to resemble Venetian plaster as found in Italy, and we built arches throughout the space to complement the style.
The result was a gorgeous bathroom!
A truly stunning and luxurious custom bath and powder room.
The pictures above represent two entire bath renovations for a client we have done several past remodeling projects for. The master bathroom was completely reconfigured with new plumbing and electric and HVAC systems.
We also raised the ceiling, created zero-entry showers, and installed custom cabinets throughout. The walls are beautiful 4’x8’ sheets of honed porcelain. The sink in the smaller bath/laundry area has a custom cypress base and gorgeous lighting throughout.
Testimonials
Down Under Construction did a beautiful job in remodeling my bathroom. Everyone from their office to their people that came to work on my bathroom was a pleasure to deal with. Joe even suggested some features for my bathroom that I didn’t think of and they came out beautifully. I recommend them to anyone that is looking for any type of construction work done.

We hired Down Under Construction to remodel a small half bath we have in our home. Joe came out and met with us and gave us a quote to do the work. We had many questions and Joe was always available to answer them. John and Lawson came out and they did beautiful work. We are quite pleased and would recommend them highly.

A beautiful newly remodeled bathroom
This picture above was a bathroom model that began with a photograph that our client brought to us of her vision for her bathroom located in Tampa. After listening to our client’s needs, our goal was to make sure that we created exactly what she envisioned her remodeled bathroom to be. Together, we were able to create the bathroom of her dreams.
We began this remodel by creating an opening in the shared wall between the bathroom and bedroom. We then installed a large plantation shutter. Our client wanted the feeling of spaciousness within the bathroom, and this is a beautiful way to open up your bath or bedroom space while still retaining privacy.
The old bathroom floor was removed, and we remodeled the bath floor with a new stone floor. The new floor was continued a quarter up the wall where we created a stone border framed by a listello that coordinated with both the bath floor and the border.
A new freestanding bathtub was installed along with a new tub faucet.
We also built a half wall to create a separate bathtub area in this bath remodel and separate it from the toilet. A dark granite ledge was cut and installed, and we placed a glass partition on top of the ledge. This created a semi-enclosed space and gave our client privacy while also retaining spaciousness within the bathtub area.
An additional half wall was created that adjoins the remodeled shower area and also lends the space privacy
New cabinets were installed along with sinks and faucets.
The finishing touch was a beautiful vintage chandelier that our client chose, which we hung over the bathtub.
The final result was a beautiful newly remodeled bathroom built to our client’s vision, and most importantly, a thrilled client.
Modern and Expanded Bathroom
We love bathroom remodel challenges! As featured on our Local Fox 13 news, news, the picture above is a bathroom remodel that was part of a complete home remodel and restoration of a historical home in St. Petersburg.
The challenge for this bath remodel was to modernize the bathroom and enlarge the bathroom space while retaining much of its original charm. We were thrilled to take on this project. We worked closely with the City of St. Petersburg’s Historic Preservation to ensure our client's vision and the City of St. Petersburg’s historic preservation guidelines.
The original master bathroom was built in 1925 in St. Petersburg and was quite small, measuring less than 30 sq. feet. We started the bath remodel by removing the bathtub, a single vanity cabinet, toilet, tile, and flooring. Our client wanted to enlarge the bathroom, and so our job was to find that extra space.
We found the extra square footage for the bath remodel by modifying the hallway, taking space from that area, and removing an existing closet.
Once the existing closet was removed, we could create a rather large shower area in the bathroom while also having additional space for the remainder of the bathroom remodel. In total, we were able to add 24 square feet of the remodeled bathroom area.
New marble flooring was installed throughout the bathroom, and a new marble stone was installed to ceiling height in the shower. We also built a beautiful bench seat in the shower.
The vanity that we installed in the bath was a stock cabinet that we modified on-site to custom-fit both the vanity and marble countertop to the existing exterior wall and make it look like part of the original “built-in” design.
Our skilled craftsman carefully restored the original window casings to their previous beauty and even restored the original medicine cabinet in the bath wall above the sink.
New bath lighting, new bath plumbing fixtures, and accessories complete this beautifully remodeled and restored 1920’s bathroom and bring it back to its original character and charm. One more gorgeous bathroom remodel and one more happy client!

Complete Bathroom Remodel
The picture above shows a bathroom remodel that was part of a whole home remodel. Our clients said, “I want new everything” on this bathroom remodel, and we were cheerfully able to oblige!
We began by sending out one of our team members to remove all the bathroom fixtures completely. Once that was finished, we were able to start this bathroom remodel from the ground up.
First things first: Because the home was much older, the electrical wiring and lighting needed to be brought up to code, and a new service panel was installed. After this was completed, a stone-look tile was installed on the bathroom floor, and a new bathtub was placed where the original tub once was.
Our craftsmen installed a new tile throughout the shower along with the bathtub and shower faucets. A beautiful glass shower door was installed, and new bathroom vanity, countertop, mirror, and lights were also installed in this bathroom remodel.
This was a quick and fun remodel that was exactly what our clients wanted and that we could deliver in Clearwater.

We were referred to Joe through some friends of ours that had some remodeling of their family room by Down Under Construction Services. We saw how nicely their family room came out so we decided to call Joe. We met with two other contractors also and although Joe wasn’t the least expensive, after talking to him several times we felt that Joe was the most knowledgeable and experienced. He remodeled our entire home and we’re so glad that we hired him because we just love how our home turned out. We tell everyone about Down Under and the quality work they do. Great company and people!

Bright and Cheerful Bath Transformation
This bathroom remodel was part of a larger home addition we created. We added a new bedroom and adjoining bathroom for our client. She wanted a nautical theme and the new tile in the shower and shades of blue and white reflect this. A new shower, cabinetry, flooring and lighting created the exact space she envisioned.
In the bathroom remodel above, our client felt that the master bath was in need of updating and they also desired additional space for the bathroom. After several meetings and conversations, we were confident that we could provide our client with the bathroom that they desired. To get things started, we provided our client with the name of an architect that we often collaborate with on various remodeling and construction projects such as this.
Working closely with the architect on space planning and placement, the blueprint of what this bath remodel would become was completed and we were ready to do what we love to do: make this bath remodel a reality for our client!
The first goal was to find additional space and incorporate it as part of the new bathroom. We accomplished this by taking space from an extra-large closet located adjacent to the bath. We then relocated the closet to the master bedroom.
Gorgeous travertine stone flooring was laid and a decorative floor mosaic was placed strategically in the room. We installed a new bathroom vanity along with bath faucets and a solid surface countertop.
We built ¾ high walls where we placed the large walk-in shower and also where the pedestal bathtub was installed. Two windows were closed in and one window was installed above the new pedestal bathtub.
New ceiling, new lights and accessories finish out this beautifully remodeled master bathroom located in Seminole. Our client’s wishes were accomplished and the result was a spacious spa-like bathroom oasis.

I would absolutely recommend Down Under Construction. They were professional and courteous and really listened to what I wanted my home to be. There were some challenges along the way but they handled them all graciously. I’m so glad that I used them and I would do so again. Excellent company.

Attention To The Details
While this lovely coastal style bathroom was part of a new home build, you can envision how this can also become a bathroom remodeling project.
The successful build or remodel of any project we undertake is dependent on the attention paid to detail, which is what our skilled finish carpenters provide consistently. This craftsmanship is well represented for this bath construction in Indian Rocks Beach.
In keeping with the coastal traditional architecture that was chosen for this new home build in Indian Rocks Beach; we continued this style when constructing this master bathroom.
A darker Brazilian Cherrywood floor was installed that contrasts nicely with the custom made white cabinetry and is a fitting choice for homes with a coastal flair in the Tampa Bay area.
The mirror frame above the vanity was built by one of our skilled carpenters based on a design seen in a magazine and encompasses the full length of the bath vanity.
Vessel bathroom sink faucets were chosen and installed and also reflect a traditional style within the home.
A spacious shower was built along with a steam unit, one rain shower head along with a traditional showerhead, and 4 body sprays for the maximum indulgence while bathing.
We custom built a place to store towels with a bench seat that opens for storage underneath.
Finally, in order to make the bathroom even more visually appealing and add the finishing accent, one of our finish carpenters built and installed a decorative wall trim that surrounds the bathroom walls. A decorative wall accent works especially well in this bathroom and adds to the coastal traditional feel.
