Indian Rocks Beach Home Remodel
A Quaint Seaside Cottage gets
Fully Remodeled
This Home Remodeling project was completed in Indian Rocks Beach, a primary area serviced by Down Under Construction. This is a quaint seaside cottage built in the 1940’s and was quite a lengthy project because it had to be remodeled in two phases to abide by the FEMA building standards.
Create The Kitchen Of Your Dreams
Down Under Construction can help you make your dream home, beginning with the kitchen a reality. Today’s kitchens are central to everyday living, often doing double duty as family rooms as well. The kitchen is truly the focus of the home. Whether you are designing your kitchen as part of a whole house remodel, a kitchen remodel, or you are considering building a new home, we can help you make it a beautiful reflection of your lifestyle.
The minute you step into this remodeled kitchen you will see that we created an opening for a window where previously there was not one. This brought in much needed natural lighting.
A new hurricane rated impact resistant sliding door was installed where previously there was a wall. The door serves two purposes, for safety and creates a feeling of spaciousness. The bedroom view now looks out toward the newly installed patio pavers and the water view beyond.
The home was quite a lengthy project because it had to be remodeled in two phases to abide by the FEMA building standards. During Phase 1 the envelope of the home was secured, and in Phase 2 was the actual remodeling you see here.
Our client ‘s wish was to restore and maintain the original ambience of that beach cottage feel.
Sher loves her new home and we enjoyed creating the home of her dreams.
Testimonials
I truly cannot imagine working with anyone else
“I just finished an extensive and complete renovation of a small 1941 house in a flood zone in Indian Rocks Beach. I’m not sure anyone other than Down Under Construction could have managed it. One contractor told me it simply couldn’t be done. Wrong! The house is gorgeous and completely aligns with my vision. I have Joe Romano and crew to thank for that. Did everything go smoothly and on time? Are you kidding -- dream on! Did it cost more than originally planned? Why yes, but add-ons were reasonable and understandable. Were there mishaps and mistakes (several of them mine) along the way? Of course! But I truly cannot imagine working with anyone else through this renovation-birthing process. Joe is affable, helpful, a great problem solver and communicative. We laughed a lot, which helped. The office crew, Spencer and Daniel, kept things organized. (I cannot imagine using a general contractor who doesn’t have full-time administrative assistance!). Joe’s regular workers are top notch (though their choice of music was at times questionable), and 98% of his subcontractors were people I’d hire on my own. I’m proud of what we all accomplished together. Although I never hope to go through a project like this ever again, if I did, I’d run straight back to Joe and DUCs. I'm almost going to miss them being around. Almost...”
